Professor Oak

Professor Samuel Oak (Japanese: オーキド ユキナリ博士 Dr. Yukinari Okido) is the most notable Pokémon professor of Kanto. He is also the one who new trainers of Kanto go to receive their beginner Pokémon. The three that he offers to new trainers are Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.

Professor Oak has his lab located in Pallet Town and owns many acres of the surrounding area to be used as Pokémon habitat.

He specializes in the cataloging of different Pokémon species and is the inventor of the Pokédex.
